Family Devotions
One of the key objectives during our study of Nehemiah is to rebuild the spiritual walls in the lives of individuals and families. Sermons, small groups, and devotions are the bricks that can build those walls, while the Bible is the mortar that holds it all together.
To help you and your family with your own devotion times, you can use your own Bible study material, or you can use the SOAP model of Bible study along with the suggested passages below. SOAP stands for:
Scripture (Write down the verses or key points)
Observation (Write down what you and the family see in the passage)
Application (How can we apply this passage in our lives today?)
Prayer (Ask God to better help you understand and live out what the passage says.)
This is much simpler than you think. Sit down with a Bible, a pen, and a copy of a devotion. Read the passage and write something in the four areas.
