nursery_9.jpgWell Child Policy

We realize a child's illness can be a difficult time for a parent, and that it is often frustrating to rearrange your schedule to provide care for a sick child at home. Our desire is to help eliminate these concerns as much as possible for all parents. This requires that our classrooms have the healthiest environment possible, therefore our stand is; the best way to prevent illness is to prevent exposure. With prevention in mind, we ask that parents keep children at home and that caregivers remain at home when any of the following signs of illness are present:

  • Temperature of 100 degrees or higher within the past 24 hours

  • Discharge in or around the eyes

  • Yellow or green discharge from a runny nose

  • Any communicable disease

  • Vomitting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours

  • Questionable rash

  • Excessive coughing

  • Lice or nits within the past 24 hours

Children who exhibit any of the above symptoms will not be permitted to remain in our supervision. If a child becomes ill while in our care, the parent will be notified for immediate pick up. If a child is being treated with antibiotic, he or she should have received treatment for a minimum of 24 hours before attending a Children's Ministry event.

ec_3.jpgDiscipline Guidelines

The purpose of having a discipline plan is to show children that it is necessary to live our life according to God's principles. Our goal is to consistently implement a Biblically-based discipline plan with the objective of changing inapporpriate behavior to appropriate behavior while helping our children realize that, as Christians, we have a responsibility to live our lives in such a way that glorifies God.

Our Expectations are as follows:

1. Respect for God.

2. Respect for Others.

3. Respect for Property.

4. Respect for Self.

The Consequences are as follows:

First Offense - Child receives a verbal warning and is made aware of possible future consequences.

Second Offense - Child is separated from his/her peers for a specific amount of time. As a general rule, the time of separation will not exceed the child's age in minutes.

Third Offense - Child is removed from the program and returned to parents.

Parents will be informed of any discipline problems that occur during a Children's Ministry event.
