First Baptist at Weston

The Dominican Republic makes up the eastern 2/3rd of the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean.  The country has a population of nearly nine million people.

This year will be the 6th year that WCA has taken a group of 8th graders to the Dominican Republic. The group travels and partners with Score International.   Score International is a missions organization committed to evangelism around the world.  Score has built a medical dental facility in the DR.  The Score facility has grown to include a fully equipped medical clinic with several full-time medical missionaries on staff.

In addition to the work with Score, our students have played with and shared the gospel with children in 2 different orphanages, several village schools, and a number of churches.  The students have participated in medical clinics for the past 2 years, fed 3 different villages, collected enough money to put the doors on a new church, handed out tracts, and shared the gospel in the capital.

This trip leaves a lasting impression of the students and adults who participate each year as God uses this group to minister to the people of the Dominican Republic.

Although participation in the trip is limited to WCA students, you can still participate by committing to being a prayer partner or perhaps providing needed resources to make the trip successful.
